He has a passion for baseball and made the varsity baseball team as a freshman. He volunteers at the St. Peter Paul Church for the homeless and has worked with the Special Olympic kids.

December's A-List Kids

Weston and Tayler with the Phillips and Company Morning Show

Weston is an eight year old boy who is dear to my heart.  His birthday was December 2nd and all he wanted for his birthday was for all his friends and family to bring him a dog toy or food so he could donate it to the local dog shelter.  His friends did just that and he and his mom were able to drop off all of the dog supplies collected to the local St. Louis shelter.  Weston is always very giving and selfless when it comes go getting and giving gifts.  For this good deed, I believe Weston should be recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty of an eight year old little boy.

Miss Tayler is my daughter and a student at Grigsby Middle School in Granite City.  All I can say about my daughter is “WOW”!  Tayler is a straight “A” student.  She is active in select softball, basketball, and track and still manages her grades.  Tayler participates in “Take A Stand” and speaks yearly to grade school students about drugs & alcohol.  Tayler is a typical teen but seems to always make good choices about school, friends, and family.  She is an only child and is beautiful on the inside and out.  What a deserving nominee!

Novermber's A-List Kids

Lacyee and Amanda with the Phillips and Company Morning Show

Laycee, is an A-List Kid.  She recently celebrated her 6th birthday with a party with kids from school.  This year, her school is installing a new playground and has been raising money for the project.  Laycee decided, on her own, to ask her friends and family for donations to the school’s playground fund in place of presents for herself.  We are so proud of her for thinking of others first.  She is sweet, generous, kind, and definitely an A-List kid.

Amanda is a very caring individual.  She is always looking out for her friends and family.  Last fall she started a project called “Bags of Love” for Cardinal Glennon Hospital.  She collects items and makes up gift bags with things to do for the patients so they will not be bored.  She has made two donations and is expecting her next delivery to be in early December.  She hopes to continue this project for many years.

October's A-List Kids

Jamie, 13 from Parkway Central and her mom Susan

Recently Jamie had a Bat Mitzvah.  She came up with a Mitzvah project to give back.  Jamie loves kids and is always willing to make a difference.  She took a portion of her monetary gifts and bought the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games for Playstation and donated them to Ranken-Jordan Children’s Hospital.  She presented it to the kids and just to see the smiles and excitement on the children’s faces had a lasting effect on her.  She will never forget that day!

Kayla, 14 from Jefferson R7 and her mom Kerry

Kayla weighed 1 lb. 15 oz. at birth, three months early.  Legally blind, multiple disabilities, but you would never know.  Goes to regular school, makes good grades, is school mascot, horseback rider, newsletter writer, won optimist club oratorical contest, public speaker, sings national anthem at horse shows.  True optimist, totally deserving, never complains about anything, keeps up with peers even though it may be physically exhausting to her body.  Her teacher told me they wish all girls would have Kayla’s attitude about life.  She’s an all around great role model.
