Sure, Mariah Carey was just on Oprah a few weeks ago, and O carried on with Mariah like they were BFF. But who got the first post-wedding TV appearance? Ellen. The show tapes Monday and airs Tuesday. Take that O!
Heidi Klum and Seal just like to make the rest of us look (and feel) bad. In the new issue of Marie Claire, Heidi said that when Seal decided to pop the question...he had someone build an igloo in the Canadian Rockies, brought Heidi up there in a helicopter and proposed at the top of the mountain. The igloo was furnished with a bed, rose petals, food and champagne.
Paging Dr. Stevens...Paging Dr. Izzie Stevens. Maybe she's ticked at her less that stellar plot line this season where she hooked up with George. But sources are saying that now that she's a big time movie star, Katherine Heigl is trying to get out of her "Grey's Anatomy" contract. She has an iron-clad contract, and I doubt that ABC and Disney will let her walk!
Btw, last night's ep was so GREAT. Ellen Pompeo is on the cover of "Entertainment Weekly" with an article that talks about how the show's return to greatness (and Mer and Der getting back together!)
Governor Matt Blunt declared today David Cook Day in Missouri. Gov. Blunt said, "Melanie and I congratulate David on reaching this milestone in the American Idol competition. We believe Missouri is behind him and we are voting for him to win....In politics you sometimes face unreasonable critics. But in American Idol, you always face Simon Cowell."
David Cook hails from Blue Springs, and graduated of the University of Central Missouri. Today, David will be in Kansas City to perform a free concert in Power & Light District at 11:30 a.m., participate in a homecoming parade in Blue Springs at 3:30 p.m., and he'll attend the Kansas City Royals game tonight where he will throw out the first pitch and sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
Btw, Wednesday night's episode of "American Idol" was the lowest rated "Idol" in five years (22.9 million viewers).
Movies out this weekend
"What Happens In Vegas" starring Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz
"Speed Racer" starring Emile Hirsch (save your money...it's getting terrible reviews!)
New at the Tivoli - "Live and Become" and "Redbelt"
At Plaza Frontenac - "Then She Found Me" starring Helen Hunt, Colin Firth and Bette Midler
Okay, I STILL have a shot with Jake Gyllenhaal. It came out that in 1999, Jake dated....CHELSEA CLINTON. She looks great now, but in '99? Jake - call me!
Paris Hilton is sporting a new diamond ring on her ring finger. She says the double banded diamond ring is "just a present" from boyfriend Benji Madden. Whatever.
Britney Spears returns to CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" this Monday.
Amanda, Pavarti, Cirie, and Natalie have made it an all-female finale on CBS' "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans Vs. Favorites." The two-hour season finale of "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans Vs. Hulk Hogan's son, Nick, will be in court today to either plead guilty or no contest to a felony charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury. Nick could spend up to five years in prison for the car crash that happened on August 26th of last year.
While many stars are coming to the defense of Miley Cyrus, Marie Osmond does NOT approve. And she's calling out Billy Ray Cyrus, saying, "My parents never, never left us alone. We always had some form of a guardian or something with us, a guardian that would represent what they would have done."
"But in [Miley's] case, her dad stepped out [of the photo session], and that's when it happened. How do you say no to somebody like [photog Annie Leibovitz] when you're a little girl? It's an interesting thing that happened with her."
By the way, as Marie throws stones...her 16-year-old son just entered rehab. So she obviously left him alone long enough for him to find drugs.
Actress Liv Tyler and her rocker hubby Royston Langdon are divorcing. They married in 2003 and have a 3-year-old son, Milo.
George Clooney was recently reminiscing about his early TV roles. After "The Facts of Life" he starred on "Roseanne". George said that when he first met Roseanne, she said to him, "You're really good looking, why don't you take me out behind the stage and"....(I can't finish the rest - sorry!)
He doesn't know if she was joking or not, but he has nothing but nice things to say about her. "She was unbelievable kind to me at a time when no one was."
Roseanne told "Time" magazine, "[George] can drink too much and still while standing in a bar parking lot at 3 a.m. discuss the world with such passion and good sense that you actually stop imagining him nude."
Alec Baldwin will appear on "60 Minutes" this Sunday and will discuss the voicemail he left for his daughter, calling her a "rude, thoughtless little pig".
